Type of Camp: Camp Avoda is an overnight camp for Jewish boys, ages 7-16. We are a traditional sports-oriented camp offering a wide range of sports and non-sports activities. The camp is fully accredited by the American Camp Association.

Comments: This will be the camp’s 87th year of operation. We generally hire two full-time registered nurses. Responsibilities include: camper and staff medical supervision, screening of all campers and staff; administering routine medications; attending to all illnesses and injuries; scheduling doctor’s appointments; maintaining accurate health records and medical notes; filling out illness and accident forms for insurance companies; responding to all medical emergencies; maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of the infirmary; contacting parents when a camper is ill or injured. The nurses are also responsible for the inspection done by the local Board of Health (written reports, regulations, standing orders, etc.) The Camp Avoda infirmary has been recently remodeled and enlarged and provides private living quarters for the two nurses: two private bedrooms, a sitting room, and 2 bathrooms. The infirmary includes an examination room, and a 3-bed ward. The infirmary is fully air conditioned throughout and has 2 cable ready color televisions. We also have internet connection in the infirmary, both hard wired and wireless. Two days off per week. If you have a son(s), he may attend the camp at no charge. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate daughters.
